Thinking of applying for a government selective high school for Year 7 entry in 2020?
NSW public schools offer a range of opportunities for gifted and talented students including opportunity classes and selective high schools. Selective high schools cater for high achieving academically gifted students who may otherwise be without sufficient classmates at their own academic and social level. These schools help gifted and talented students to learn by grouping them with other gifted and talented students, using specialised teaching methods and materials at the appropriate level.
Key dates:
- Tuesday, 9 October 2018 - Application website opens
- Monday, 12 November 2018 - Application website closes. You must apply by the due date.
- Thursday, 28 February 2019 - Test authority advice sent to all applicants
- Thursday, 14 March 2019 - Selective High School Placement Test
- Friday, 5 July 2019 - Placement outcome information is sent
